Community rules for using TapTeam.
TapTeam is built on one idea: gamers should be able to find teammates without dealing with toxicity, scams, or harassment. This Code of Conduct is the agreement we share to keep that real.
By using TapTeam, you agree to follow these rules. Breaking them can result in warnings, lost trust score, suspension, or permanent ban.
1. Respect every player
- No harassment, threats, or hate speech. This includes targeting someone for their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other identity.
- No slurs. Not in your username, bio, messages, profile, or LFG posts. We don't care if "that's how my friends and I talk" — it's not how TapTeam talks.
- No personal attacks. Disagree with someone's playstyle? Move on. Don't make it personal.
2. Protect minors
- The minimum age to use TapTeam is 16. This is non-negotiable.
- No predatory behavior toward minors, period. This includes grooming, attempts to move conversations to private platforms to harm a minor, sexualized comments toward anyone known or suspected to be under 18, or attempts to meet up.
- If you suspect a user is under 16, report them. Don't engage. Don't "verify" yourself. Just report.
3. Be honest about who you are
- No impersonation. Don't pretend to be someone you're not — including a streamer, a pro player, a friend, or a different gender or age.
- No age misrepresentation. Saying you're older or younger than you are to access certain audiences or content is a permanent-ban offense.
- No fake credentials. Don't claim ranks, achievements, or skill levels you don't have to attract teammates.
4. Respect audience tags
TapTeam lets posts and squads be marked with audience tags like Women-Only, LGBTQ+, or 18+. These exist so players can find safe communities.
- If you don't fit the tag, don't join. Joining a Women-Only squad as a non-woman to "see what happens" or "prove a point" is harassment and gets you banned.
- Don't pressure people to remove tags or argue about who "belongs" in a tagged space.
5. No cheating, boosting, or gaming the system
- No promoting or offering cheats, hacks, exploits, or aimbots for any game.
- No boosting services — ELO, MMR, rank, or account boosting, all banned.
- No selling, buying, or trading accounts.
- No real-money trading (RMT) — virtual currency, in-game items, accounts, or anything else for real money or value off-platform.
6. No spam, no scams
- No unsolicited promotion of Discord servers, YouTube channels, Twitch streams, or other platforms in messages or LFG posts.
- No repeat friend requests, squad invites, or DMs to users who haven't responded.
- No phishing, fake giveaways, or links to malicious sites.
- No mass-posting LFGs to game the discovery feed.
7. Keep content appropriate
- No sexual content. Including profile pictures, banner images, usernames, bios, LFG descriptions, or messages.
- No graphic violence, gore, or shock content.
- No content promoting self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders.
- No illegal content of any kind.
8. Protect privacy
- No doxxing. Don't share someone's real name, address, workplace, school, or other private info without their consent.
- No sharing screenshots of private DMs in public areas to harass or embarrass.
- Don't pressure anyone to share personal info, voice chat, photos, or off-platform contacts.
9. How to report
If you see or experience anything that breaks this Code:
- Tap the "..." menu on a profile, LFG post, or message → Report
- Or email us at support@tapteam.app
You can also block users to stop all contact from them. Blocking is private — they won't be notified.
We review every report. False reports made in bad faith are themselves a violation.
10. What happens if you break the rules
Depending on the violation, consequences may include:
- Warning — for minor or first-time issues
- Trust score drop — visible to other users, reduces match priority
- Feature suspension — temporary loss of messaging, LFG posting, or squad creation
- Account suspension — temporary lockout
- Permanent ban — for serious violations like predatory behavior, hate speech, or repeated offenses
Some violations skip straight to permanent ban — including predatory behavior toward minors, threats of violence, doxxing, and impersonation with intent to harm.
11. Updates to this Code
We may update this Code of Conduct as TapTeam grows and new behaviors emerge. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you in-app and update the date at the top of this page.
