Why finding teammates usually goes wrong
Most places you can look for a group only know one thing about the people in it: that they are online right now. The in-game fill button, a Discord server’s LFG channel, a subreddit thread — none of them know your rank, whether you use a mic, whether you want to climb or unwind, or what you are comfortable with. So you get a squad, and then you find out.
The result is familiar: the duo partner three ranks below you, the squad that never turns on comms, the "chill" lobby that is anything but. Finding people is easy. Finding the right people is the whole problem, and it is the problem TapTeam is built around.
How TapTeam matches teammates
Every TapTeam member has a profile that says how they play, and every LFG post says what the host is looking for. Matching uses both. These are the signals:
- Game
- The games on your profile and the game on the post. TapTeam supports any multiplayer title — the game list comes from IGDB, so if you can name it, you can post for it.
- Skill and rank
- Your rank per game, and whether you want new-player-friendly or experienced groups. Hosts can state the rank they are looking for, so a session stays in a sensible range.
- Playstyle
- Casual, competitive, or ranked, plus playstyle tags on your profile. A sweaty climb and a relaxed evening are different posts, so nobody joins expecting the other.
- Communication
- Mic on, mic sometimes, or mic off. Posts can require a mic. You know before you join whether the squad talks.
- Platform
- PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, mobile. Posts list the platforms in the squad, which matters for cross-play games and even more for the ones that are not.
- Goals
- Climbing, learning, grinding unlocks, or just playing after work. Goals are on the profile, and "same goal" is one of the strongest signals in the match.
- Comfort
- Women-focused sessions, LGBTQ+ friendly squads, family-friendly lobbies, an age preference, and a no-trash-talk expectation. You set these before you join anything.
- After the session
- Teammates rate each other after a squad wraps. Those ratings build a reputation that makes future matches better and keeps repeat problems out of your lobbies.

Find gaming friends, not just a fill
A good session should not end when the squad disbands. On TapTeam you can send a connection request to teammates you enjoyed playing with, message them directly, and squad up again without going through a lobby of strangers. Ratings after each session mean the people you keep seeing are the people other players rated well, too.

LFG on TapTeam — FAQ
What does LFG mean?
"Looking for group." It is how players say they want teammates for a session — a duo, a trio, a full squad, or a raid. LFG on TapTeam is a post with a game, a number of spots, a platform, and how the host wants to play.
Which games can I find teammates for on TapTeam?
Any multiplayer game. TapTeam’s game list comes from IGDB, so you can post for Marvel Rivals, Fortnite, Valorant, Call of Duty, Overwatch 2, and any other title you can name. The most active games have their own pages linked on this page.
Do I need a mic to use TapTeam?
No. Your profile says mic on, situational, or off, and posts say whether a mic is required. Players who prefer pings and text can find squads that are happy with that.
How is TapTeam different from a Discord LFG channel?
A Discord LFG channel is a scrolling chat: you post and hope. TapTeam matches on a profile — skill, playstyle, platform, mic, goals — and teammates rate each other after a session. Many squads still use Discord for voice; TapTeam is for finding the people.
Is TapTeam safe to use?
TapTeam has a Code of Conduct, block and report tools, post-session ratings, and comfort options such as women-focused sessions, family-friendly lobbies, and an age preference. Phone verification is part of sign-up.
Is TapTeam free?
Yes. TapTeam is free to join on iOS, Android, and the web. There is an optional TapTeam+ tier, but finding teammates, posting sessions, and joining squads do not require it.
